My mum was in this really good pet food store in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn yesterday where she found this new cat food called (she thinks) Abaya from Poughkeepsie. The dry stuff is covered in masses of copy that could be written by ZeHiter (or Candy). Basically, it includes next to no carbs, tells you that kibble isn't really a good idea for cats, mentions that the process to make kibble is not really one that leads to good feline health, and thus this includes lard and animal products. The guys there say it is really good and showed mum the frozen cat food they make.
Does anyone know anything about this product? Blue is hoping that he can continue eating Wellness, but we know Mum is looking for a new food to replace our low fat Iams kibble (shame on her--I love it, the carb fiend that I am).

Tue, May 11, 2004 - 6:50 AMShe hasn't gotten any yet because we're so stocked up on Wellness and Iams less active (which I love and she is not at all happy with because of all she's learned about it from your Mom). She should be getting some later in the week--I think she said she's going to start with the frozen food but then she'll get a box of the kibble (which is cheaper than wellness). -

Wed, May 12, 2004 - 7:54 AMOh absolutely Ripley! Indeed, I am scheming to ensure I don't get changed over. I know it's not the best food for me but I love the iams less active--it is full of carbohydrate-y goodness. Yummmmmm.....
